Best of Show: Brian Lutz Color Shots 3 currently on display. Show runs Oct. 24 to Dec. 2, 2008 (Award Winners at bottom of article) Come see the best of color photography at the Color Shots 3 exhibit, as well as artwork by local students at The Next Picture Show. Color Shots 3, which features both digital and film pieces, runs through Dec. 2. “This is the third year for this very popular show. We have many talented photographers who submitted their work, many of whom have exhibited here before. We also have some new talent,” said Bonnie Kime, the gallery’s executive director. Judge This show's judge was Jerry Hahn. He has lived near the Rock River all of his life, East Moline, Hillsdale and Geneseo since 1969. He worked 35 years in the US Army where he attended Photo Lab Tech School and work as a photographer and tech in Germany for three years. He graduated from Wesleyan University, Bloomington, IL with BS Degree in Business Administration in 1961. At this time he has worked at photography for profit and fun. First Place: Rick Munson Featured Artists The public also can view the work of The Next Picture Show featured member artists Marilyn and Bob Tower from Oct. 16 to Oct. 30; Roger Goodspeed from Nov. 1 to Nov. 15; and Fran Swarbrick from Nov. 16 to Nov. 30. These artists' works will be at the front of the gallery during the dates listed. Lower Gallery The Lower Gallery will feature more than 30 original paintings by 5th and 6th graders, students of Reagan Middle School teacher Debbie Thompson. The paintings were created during a guest artist program sponsored by The Next Picture Show. Local painter Jayne Rose worked with Thompson’s students on the project called “Day Dream Believer.”
