The first annual art
festival sponsored by the Freeport Park District, the
Freeport Arts Center and Momentum Art Guild of
Northwest Illinois will be held Sunday, August 31, 2008.
Art in the Park will be located in one of the most
beautiful parks in the area, Krape Park. Freeport is
nestled in the northwest corner of Illinois, 20 miles
west of Rockford, One hour south of Madison,
Wisconsin, and 2-1/2 hours west of Chicago. A
list of lodging accomodations can be provided upon
request.

open to all photographers, both digital and film. This show is always a

One day event is held Sat., July 5, 2008...rain or shine!
This is the 27th anniversary of this show. Formerly a Haymarket Guild of Artists' event, The NEXT PICTURE SHOW has been running this juried art show for 2 years. It is held at John Dixon Park in Dixon, Illinois, during Petunia Festival week. The show has 50-65 fine artists of both 2D and 3D media.

Show runs August 15 through September 16, 2008.
A celebration of the multiple dimensions of women. This show celebrates
women artists. You know. The "Bringing home the bacon and frying it up
in a pan" refrain that women from all generations have lived, some
without even knowing it. Artists are asked to provide artwork that depicts women or
objects related to women with themes that include, but are not limited
to, jobs, chores, childbearing, moments of humor in their lives, their
friendships and their pleasures, meals, an embrace, beauty regimes,
family, and, finally, at rest.
Media: 2D, painting (all medium), photography, textiles/fiber, printmaking, graphic illustration, drawing, mixed media.

Show runs from September 19 through October 21, 2008.
For the 3rd year we will be featuring the "Farms & Barns" show. Our region has solid and strong roots in agriculture. This show explores the variety of ways farms and barns and our agrarian history inspire and inform artists’ work.
This is a 2D all media show.
