The Next Picture Show will host a Fine Arts Show/Sale featuring black and white photography from May 30 through June 24.
The “Shades of Grey 4” show is back for its fourth year. This black and white competition will include about 70 pieces in both film and digital formats.
“This is growing into one of our most popular shows. We have some interesting pieces for this exhibit that show a range of work from some very talented photographers,” said Bonnie Kime, executive director of the gallery.
Michael Zajakowski, picture editor for the Chicago Tribune Magazine, will be the judge. Zajakowski, who has been a photojournalist for 22 years, is an award-winning photographer and picture editor. He joined the Chicago Tribune in 1998 as a metro photo editor. In 2000, he was a contributing editor and photographer to CITY2000, a yearlong project to document the city of Chicago. His photographs have appeared in The New York Times, Audubon and other publications.
The Shades of Gray 4 sponsor is Diane Schnake of The Frameworks and Century 21 Alliance, both in Dixon.
The show is open to the public with an artists’ reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., May 30. The public is invited to stop by and meet the artists.
