Best of Show, Carolyn Handy, Judges

What have our Rock River Valley artists been up to recently? That question was answered when The Next Picture Show featured 37 area artists during a Fine Arts Show/Sale from March 14 through April 15. Artists are exhibiting original pieces in both 2D and 3D work done in the past two years.

The show’s sponsor is US Bank of South Galena Ave. in Dixon, IL. The students of Kathy Hann will provided music for the opening night reception.

“This show is important because with it we identify current trends in the Rock River art community. The exhibit artists will include many local favorites, as well as some new faces,” said Bonnie Kime, executive director of The Next Picture Show.

1st Place: Rosalie Kolden

“We’ve made the regional survey show part of our annual schedule because people enjoy it so much. Because it is open to several mediums, we get a nice variety of art,” she added.

The Next Picture Show is hosting featured member artists Tom Linden from March 10 to March 31 and Tamara Shriver from April 1 to April 15. These artists' works will be at the front of the gallery during the dates listed.
