When oil painter, Nina Stachewicz, began her journey as an
artist more than 30 years ago, she had two young children at home.
“When I first started painting, my oldest son was two years old and the
youngest was three months. Therefore, anyone can oil paint if they are
dedicated,” Stachewicz said.
The accomplished artist and teacher will share many tips and techniques when she teaches an Oil Painting Workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 20, 2007 at The Next Picture Show.
Go to the the "CLASSES" page on this site for details on this workshop and class application. The registration fee is $60. Pre-registration is required.
Stachewicz has explored many different media to express her art over the
years. However, she always kept oil painting and continuing her art
education. Last year she attended two different week-long advanced oil
painting classes in Missouri.
She has held painting classes and
workshops in Moline, Freeport, Rockford, Sterling and Apple Canyon Lake.
Her art projects have grown in size over the years. The largest include
the wall murals at the Freeport YMCA and the Monroe YMCA, which each
took more than a year to complete, that she helped paint.
“I have always enjoyed sharing my love of painting by teaching others.
It has given me many hours of enjoyment and I hope my enthusiasm will
help my students feel as I do,” Stachewicz said.
