Creative Printing, 213 W 1st St, Dixon, IL, and The Next Picture Show have teamed up to sponsor an original poster contest with a theme of “Christmas to Me”.

The contest was offered to Dixon’s four schools with grades 5th through 8th. The Next Picture Show is providing the lower level of the gallery for display. Creative Printing administered the contest from providing the art paper, prizes, and promotional posters. Four winners will have their posters made into actual postage stamps. Instructional art kits will also be awarded. Over eighty entries were received.

The awards go to:

• 1st Place ... Kari Wolfe ... Reagan Middle School
  
• 2nd Place ... Kathryn Demko ... St. Mary School
  
• 3rd Place ... Madalyn Klein ... St. Mary School
  
• Honorable Mention ... Julia Sofolo ... Faith Christian School
  

Almost 80 entries were received. 24 of them were picked at random to be enlarged to 44" x 62". This select group will be displayed throughout the downtown at participating merchants. All original entries will be on display at the Lower Level of The Next Picture Show beginning Wednesday, November 28th.

An awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 1st (Dixon's Christmas Walk) at The NExt Picture Show... promptly at 9 am. Photos will be taken at that time.
