20th Phidian Literary Competition is Announced |

The Phidian Art Club invites local writers to enter its 20th annual
Literary Competition. The contest includes poetry, fiction and
nonfiction.
Prizes will be provided by Doris Isgrig, poetry competition in
memory of her late husband, Eric Isgrig; Dixon's Books on First,
fiction; and Sauk Valley Newspapers, nonfiction.
The committee for this year's literary competition includes Judy Dixon, Judith Valenti, Nancy Mayfield and chairman, Jayne Rose. The committee urges interested writers to review the contest requirements and follow them carefully before submitting their entries.
The deadline for entries is March 15. All entries must be postmarked by this date.
- Eligibility - The competition is open to any writer, professional or nonprofessional, 17 or older, who resides within a 35-mile radius of Dixon.
- Categories - (only one entry per category): poetry, any form, 30-line limit; fiction, 3,000-word limit; nonfiction, 2,500-word limit.
- Entry fee - Enclose $6 with each entry. Checks should be made payable to Phidian Arts Club.
